Committed to Data Management

Protecting Proprietary Data

MCPN and Pinnacle Energy understand the competitive nature of prospecting in the oil and gas industry. We respect the amount of work and creativity that goes into generating Prospects and we take every precaution to ensure that all Prospector data is protected and managed properly.

The process outlined below ensures that Potential Partners are able to screen Prospects and gain access to exciting new opportunities, while protecting the proprietary data generated by each Prospector.

The Mid-Con Prospect Network Process

Step 1: Prospect Listings & Public Information

All Prospect Listings are posted by MCPN on behalf of a Prospector - MCPN does not own or guarantee the validity of the information provided by the Prospector. Each Prospector determines what information can be made available to the public on MCPN and what information is confidential and only available via a private Virtual Data Room. A MCPN account is required to view all public data.

Step 2: Confidentiality Agreement

Excited to learn more about a Prospect? Each Listing has a unique link to a private Virtual Data Room with more data. To access this proprietary data, you will need to sign a Confidentiality Agreement with the Prospector. CAs can be negotiated between you, as the Potential Partner, and the Prospector. Pinnacle Energy Services will guide you through this process.

Step 3: Virtual Data Rooms

Private Virtual Data Rooms are set up for each Prospect and contain confidential information, which may include but is not limited to:

  • Geologic detail
  • Operations plans & cost estimates
  • Leasehold status
  • Available investment terms

Step 4: Deeper Dive

During the CA and VDR process, you will be placed in direct contact with the Prospector to discuss the intricacies of the Prospect. Pinnacle can host virtual or in-person meetings should you have additional questions at this point.

Step 5: Negotiate Relationship

Should you and the Prospector decide to pursue a relationship to execute on the Prospect, Pinnacle can provide Negotiation Support to help close the deal. Pinnacle has 20+ years experience negotiating A&D transactions and can help secure the best possible working relationship for both parties. Click below to learn more.
